The Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) is a multi-billion Maloti/Rand bi-national initiative established by the 1986 Treaty between the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Republic of South Africa. The project encompasses large-scale civil engineering, socio-economic development, public health, and environmental management.
