- Position Summary
The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement and supply chain operations of the construction company, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services. The role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier relationship management, contract administration, and compliance with procurement regulations.
The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of construction materials, vendor management, cost control, and procurement best practices to support the company’s construction projects efficiently.
- Key Responsibilities
A. Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s construction project needs.
- Plan and forecast material and equipment requirements for various construction sites.
- Establish procurement policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and transparency.
B. Supplier Management & Negotiation
- Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships with reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure cost-effective and quality supplies.
- Maintain a supplier database, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
C. Contract Management & Compliance
- Review, draft, and manage procurement contracts, purchase agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
- Work closely with the legal department to address contract disputes and procurement risks.
D. Cost Control & Budgeting
- Monitor procurement budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining timely delivery of materials.
- Track and analyze market trends, supplier pricing, and material costs.
E. Inventory & Logistics Coordination
- Work with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient inventory management.
- Oversee delivery schedules to ensure timely arrival of construction materials.
- Address supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.
F. Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure smooth procurement operations.
- Lead and mentor a procurement team, providing training and professional development.
- Act as the main liaison between suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Experience handling large-scale construction procurement and supply chain operations.

- Ability to travel to construction sites and supplier locations as needed.
