Applications are invited From suitably qualified local candidates for the following position tenable in the Ministry of Labour and Employment:
JOB TITLE: Procurement Assistant
Grade: E
Responsible To: Assistant Procurement Officer
Job Summary
To monitor the security of the stores premises and the items stored in them, and to provide up-to-date information on stock availability.
Main Duties
1. Monitoring of Stock
- Facilitate deliveries and issue of goods to end users
- Report deficiencies in delivered goods
- Record stock losses accurately and promptly
- Report stock losses immediately for corrective action
- Prepare daily stock reports
- Ensure proper certification of stock inspection, storage, and issuance
2. Inventory Management
- Conduct physical stock checks against ledger/bin card balances
- Take physical inventories in stockrooms and offices
- Update and reconcile stores ledger and bin cards with inventory system
- Advise user divisions on items nearing re-order levels
Job Specification
Education and Experience
- Diploma in Business Management/Studies, Public Administration, or Supply Chain Management plus CIPS Foundation Diploma/Advanced Certificate
OR - Diploma in the above fields plus at least 2 years experience as Procurement Clerk or in procurement/inventory management
OR - COSC/GCE plus CIPS Foundation Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Purchasing and Supply plus at least 4 years experience in procurement/inventory management
Note: Membership of a relevant professional body in procurement and supply chain management is an added advantage.

- Supervision Received: Accountable to the Assistant Procurement Officer; guided by the Lesotho Constitution, Public Service Act, and Public Procurement Regulations 2007

- Ensure knowledge and information are recorded, shared, and utilised effectively

- Minimal

- Hazards: Minimal, but awareness of potential hazards in a stores environment is essential
