Position Purpose
To provide quality Industrial Engineering support to the Forestry & Milling value chain to improve efficiencies, reduce production costs, improve product quality, remove wasteful activities, and drive the automation strategy.
Major/Key Accountabilities
- Identify and implement best practices across the Forestry & Milling value chain to improve efficiencies and lower production costs while improving product quality to deliver higher value products to CHEP
- Research, develop and implement process improvements and technological upgrades to production processes
- Conduct cost and value driver analysis to identify efficiency improvement opportunities
- Design control systems to minimise costs and production issues
- Drive automation strategy within the Forestry & Milling business
- Design layout of facilities and determine optimal resourcing requirements
- Coordinate process capability, continuous improvement and six sigma studies
- Conduct Work Studies on operational processes
- Manage the design, implementation and standardisation of operational processes
- Engage with Operations teams to use basic lean tools to eliminate waste
- Support the Maintenance Manager with improving the Reliability Engineering and Physical Asset Management program
- Develop/enhance reports to measure operational performance and improve decision making

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering (minimum)
Post graduate degree in Industrial Engineering and/or Business Management (desired)
Experience
5 – 8 years experience in a Continuous Improvement environment
