PROCESS CONTROLLER – ENERGY (Grade 10/HRL13)
Sappi Ngodwana seeks to place a Process Controller to operate the PF Boiler, Turbines, Compressors, Demin Plant and associated auxiliary equipment on a shift basis. The successful candidate must ensure optimum production output with the required quality and minimum downtime, whilst maintaining extremely high safety standards.
REPORTING TO the Shift Superintendent – Energy
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To operate of PF Boiler, Turbines, Compressors, Demin Plant and auxiliary equipment
- Perform shift handover with utilization of electronic reporting systems
- Create a safe working environment by identifying and managing risks
- Optimise plant performance with maximum uptime
- Ensure key quality parameters are maintained within specification
- Record and ensure priority maintenance notifications are attended to
- Optimise plant status within any constraints (raw materials, and services)
- Ensure corrective action on all non- conformances
- Perform tasks as per production schedules released on SAP
- Execute non-routine activities of shuts, start-ups and stops
- Ensure good housekeeping practices within area of responsibility with objective to achieve 5S status
- Train future incumbent Process Controllers
- Update best operating practice

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Relevant post Matric Certificate / Diploma / NQF Level 5
- Power plant red/silver seal accreditation would be advantageous
- 2 Years’ experience in a Production Environment or completed PF Boiler License.
