Position Title: Principal Intelligence Officer

Grade: H
Number of Posts: Two (2)
Responsible To: Chief Intelligence Officer


Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Chief Intelligence Officer, the Principal Intelligence Officer is responsible for receiving, compiling, analyzing, and evaluating reports of alleged corruption, money laundering, and related offences, while also providing technical support to the Investigations Division.


Main Duties

  1. Receive, compile, analyze, and evaluate reports of alleged corruption and money laundering
  2. Liaise with internal DCEO offices and external stakeholders
  3. Conduct preliminary investigations to verify complaints
  4. Provide technical support to the Investigations Division
  5. Conduct research on emerging trends and criminal methods in corruption and money laundering
  6. Analyze trends and patterns in corruption and related offences
  7. Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on allegations
  8. Conduct vetting processes for DCEO applicants and legal persons of interest
  9. Profile suspects, persons of interest, and businesses involved in corruption or money laundering
  10. Record proceedings of the Report Analysis Panel
  11. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Intelligence Officer

Job Specification

  • Education:
    LLB or equivalent
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant field
  • Additional Knowledge (Advantageous):
    • Understanding of corruption and its impact
    • Familiarity with government procurement policies and guidelines

  • Attach verification certificates from the Council of Higher Education (CHE)

  • Be willing to undergo vetting
  • Be available for placement in any of the ten districts of Lesotho
