Primary Teaching Positions at MGC

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the hereunder post primary teaching positions:

  • Mathematics and ICT
  • Mathematics and physics
  • Biology and chemistry
  • English language and Sesotho

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate passion and ambition in their areas of expertise;
  • Prepare and deliver quality lessons in their fields;
  • Take on a curriculum leadership role in respect of their subjects or learning areas;
  • Plan, coordinate, control, administer, evaluate and report on learners’ academic progress;
  • Demonstrate skills to improvise the learning/teaching materials;
  • Participate in organising sports, community, social and cultural activities;
  • Meet with parents to discuss the progress and conduct of their children;
  • Partake in the develop turnaround strategy to improve performance of the school and assist the management of the school in implementing the strategy;
  • Advise the management on the adoption of good management practices and new teaching styles;
  • Advice the management on language policy within an emphasis on concept development;
  • Advice the school on assessment policies, giving particular attention to assessment for diagnostic purposes and skills measurements;
  •  Assist the school in evaluating new management and teaching materials such as teaching programs (modules), assessment tools, improvised equipment and support materials;
  • Advise on the management of subject department and organization of the whole school structure;
  • Advice the management on the good governance of school and links with the communities the school  serves;
  • Assist school management with compliance to educational policies and financial                accountability.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • BED with three years’ teaching experience at post primary level (with a record of producing good results)
  • ORDiploma in Education (or equivalent qualification) with five years’ teaching experience at post primary (with a record of producing good results)
  • The incumbent should be computer literate and must also have necessary report writing skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Excellent command of English Language (reading, writing and spoken)
  • Good Computer skills with sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, email and internet
