Job Title: Premier Banker

Reports to: Branch Manager
Department: Retail
Location: Maseru


Job Purpose

To provide exceptional, personalised banking services to Premier Banking clients by delivering a seamless customer experience, offering tailored financial solutions, and managing a portfolio of mass‑affluent customers.

The role is responsible for deepening customer relationships, increasing product usage, driving portfolio growth, and ensuring adherence to Lesotho PostBank’s values, compliance standards, and service excellence commitments.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Acquires new Premier clients and grows the portfolio through targeted lead generation and referrals.
  • Increases product penetration per customer through effective cross selling and need‑based conversations.
  • Achieves all assigned sales, revenue, and product performance targets.
  • Drive assets and liabilities growth within the Premier segment.
  • Identifies customer financial needs and recommends relevant transactional, investment, and credit solutions.
  • Supports commission and service fee recovery in line with bank requirements.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Manages an assigned Premier Banking client portfolio, ensuring a personalised and relationship‑driven service experience.
  • Conducts structured courtesy calls, customer check‑ins, and scheduled portfolio reviews.
  • Maintains and executes a customer visitation plan for key clients.
  • Builds and sustains long‑term, trusting customer relationships.
  • Proactively identifies early warning signs of customer attrition and takes corrective action.
  • Guides customers on how to maximise value from the bank’s product suite and benefits.

Customer Experience & Service Excellence

  • Acts as the ambassador for Premier Banking service standards.
  • Maintains a warm, professional, and welcoming Premier Suite environment.
  • Supports customers in using ATMs, digital banking channels, and self‑service channels.
  • Ensures adherence to Premier Banking Service Plans, standards, and service‑level targets.

Operational Efficiency & Compliance

  • Adheres to all LPB policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with account opening processes, ensuring accurate documentation and full KYC/AML compliance.
  • Ensures all client files are complete, recorded, and submitted to customer service for checking and archiving.
  • Maintains accurate client records, portfolio data, and follow‑up activities.
  • Stays up to date with bank products, systems, and regulatory updates.

Team Support and Collaboration

  • Works collaboratively with branch teams to resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Provides feedback on customer needs, trends, and potential product improvements.
  • Supports branch initiatives and campaigns aimed at driving sales and service excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in retail banking or financial services.
  • Experience working with mass affluent or Premier/Status customers is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in sales, cross selling, and customer relationship management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of retail banking products and services.
  • Basic credit assessment and financial analysis skills.
  • Understanding of KYC/AML regulations and account opening processes.
  • Ability to educate customers on digital and alternative banking channels.
  • Good command of MS Office and ability to prepare professional reports or presentations.
  • Strong customer orientation and passion for service excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
  • Confident, persuasive, and goal‑driven.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Problem‑solving ability with strong attention to detail.
  • Emotional intelligence when handling diverse customer personalities.
