Pre-Qualification Applications for Tourism Facility Concessions

Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture: Tourism Facility Concessions

The Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture (MTEC) of the Government of Lesotho is currently leading initiatives within the tourism sector in Lesotho to develop key tourism destination areas. As part of this endeavor, MTEC has decided to concession three (3) separate facilities:

1.   Bokong Chalets Concession: The Bokong Chalets are situated in a world-class location at the top of a mountain and overlooking a beautiful valley. The Bokong Chalets consist of 5 separate buildings each with 4 bedrooms, along with a reception building, restaurant, and laundry.

2.   Liphofung Chalets Concession: The Liphofung Chalets are in the Northern Lesotho Parks area, adjacent to a cave shelter site of great historic, cultural and heritage significance site in the ‘Moteng Valley.   Five chalets are present, each with 3 bedrooms. The chalets are equipped with kitchens and a dining area. A dining facility is included.

3.   Sehlabathebe Lodge Facility Concession: The Sehlabathebe Lodge Facility is located in Sehlabathebe National Park, within the Maloti-Drakensberg Park in the southeast of the country.

The Sehlabathebe Lodge accommodates approximately 44 people and has restaurant facilities.

Each of these facilities is being procured as a separate concession. MTEC now invites interested and experienced accommodation sector operators to submit Pre-Qualification Applications. The application documents for each facility can be obtained at MTEC, Procurement, 6th Floor, Post Office Building and at the following websites:
