Postgraduate program “International Cooperation for Sustainable Development” – Application opportunities

147
We would like to introduce you to the Postgraduate Program “International Cooperation for Sustainable Development” of the Centre for Rural Development (SLE) at Humboldt University to Berlin. The program has been training 20 young professionals per year for more than 60 years and provides practical training in the field of international cooperation.

The study program directly speaks to master’s graduates of all disciplines relevant to development policy who have an interest and commitment in this field. In particular, students of the “green” sciences (geosciences, agricultural sciences, forestry, environmental sciences, etc.), but also of engineering as well as political, social, economic and cultural sciences are addressed.

The Centre for Rural Development Seminar offers you a creative and performance-oriented atmosphere in which key professional knowledge is acquired. Bridging the gap between academia and practice, you will gain concrete experience through real-world case studies during the Joint International Research Projects (JIRP). In SLE, we think critically together about causes of global inequality as well as relational development policies in North and South. SLE promotes an anti-racist stance and strives for diversity and decolonialization in all respects.

After the successful completion of the program, graduates usually work worldwide for various actors and institutions of German and international cooperation. The professional challenges are becoming ever greater and the solutions more complex. In addition to specialist knowledge and an interdisciplinary approach, transcultural sensitivity and the ability to work with people and organizations are of great importance.
