Applications are invited from suitably qualified local candidates for the following position:
JOB DESCRIPTION
MINISTRY: Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation
DEPARTMENT: Postal Services
JOB TITLE: Postal Clerk (1)
GRADE: C
RESPONSIBLE TO: Retail Clerk / Mail Clerk
LOCATION: Maseru
JOB PURPOSE
To assist Mail/Retail Clerk in a variety of tasks related to customer service, mail handling, cash handling, and mail processing.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Collects Revenue
- Sell postal products and services to the public
- Collect revenue on rentals of private bags and boxes, COD, and other newly introduced retail services
2. Process and Balance Transactions
- Issue ordinary and telegraphic money as per requirement of each customer
- Cash money orders for the customers on production of valid identity documents
- Record daily transactions into cash book for retail services
- Balance books of accounts for retail services
3. Accepts and Delivers Mail Items
- Accept incoming mail, registered items, and parcels from the customers
- Deliver outgoing mail items at the counter to the customers
4. Performs Mail Circulation Duties
- Perform mail circulation duties

KNOWLEDGE AND JOB SPECIFICATION
Option 1:
- Certificate in Business Studies or Management
- Plus: Three (3) years working experience
Option 2:
- COSC
- Plus: Six (6) years working experience as a Postal Assistant (Grade B) or Mail Conductor (Grade B)
