AfriSam Lesotho has a vacancy for a Plant Operator. The position reports to the Plant Superintendent, forms part of the Cementitious Lesotho team, and is based in Maseru.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Leading the production team on shift.
• Operating forklift and fixed plant equipment in accordance with procedures, standards and systems.
• Conducting equipment pre- and post-start inspections.
• Recording production performance and stop logs.
• Assisting with maintenance of the plant and equipment.
• Assisting and performing tasks in other departments as required to meet operational goals.
• Ensuring production quality specifications are met.
• Adhering to plant safety and environmental standards.
• Performing shift work.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
• Minimum Grade 12 (a technical qualification is an added advantage).
• Minimum two years’ experience working in plants and operating plant equipment.
• Basic communication, numeric and literacy skills.
• Basic product knowledge.
• Ability to fully satisfy the requirements of the Code of Practice for fitness.
