Job Description & Purpose
The Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for optimizing mining operations and continuously improving processes, equipment, and methods to exceed production targets. The role also requires strict compliance with:
- Mine Health and Safety Act
- Minerals Act and its Regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a mining section and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain discipline and performance standards among subordinates.
- Assist in the control, management, and direction of the Processing Plant and Plant Maintenance.
- Oversee strategic and tactical planning for plant operations.
- Effectively manage costs within the department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a COSC certificate.
- Blasting Certificate (Scheduled Mines) with at least 4 years of experience.
- Valid Light Vehicle Driver’s License.
- Mine Overseer / Operation Certificate of Competency for Scheduled Mines.
- At least 6 years of mining experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Mine Overseer / Operations Manager.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Strong knowledge of final recovery plant processes.
- Effective communication (verbal and written).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
