PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is to formulate production and extractive metallurgical operations to enhance diamond recovery effectiveness and diamond value management performance through high equipment availability and maintainability, while striving for world class equipment reliability.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE
• COSC / LGSE plus relevant Certification in Fitting and Turning/Machinery and demonstrated capability through past employment experience.
• 2 Years experience as a Fitter Assistant with knowledge on conveyors, pumps, screens, crushers, gearboxes, and bearings.
• Experience in Diamonds Processing Plant will be an added advantage.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Practice Safe working principles through demonstration in knowledge of HIRAC, lockout & tag, Safe Work Procedures, and incident reporting.
• Inspect and repair all mechanical components as directed by the maintenance system and/or supervisors.
• Assist a Fitter in all his duties.
• Be trainable.
• Maintain a positive attitude and drive.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Knowledge of mechanical repairs
• Maintenance and installation techniques
• Applying safe work practices and housekeeping
• Ability to use hand tool and power tools safely
