PLANT CLERK

Liqhobong Mining Development Company (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Firestone Diamonds PLC, invites suitably qualified and competent Basotho to apply for the vacant position of Plant Clerk.

Job Purpose

To oversee all aspects of general office coordination of the Operations Production Department including retrieving, fi ling, and maintaining all records. The incumbent is also responsible for executing daily routine administrative activities in response to work demands of the department such as fi ling, data capturing, correspondence and job card logging.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of Plant Foremen, the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities.

  • Maintain office calendar to coordinate workflow and meetings.
  • Update monthly departmental roisters.
  • Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • File and retrieve departmental documents, records, and reports.
  • Update daily reagents consumption and stock levels.
  • Interact with temporary workers and assist with recording their working hours.
  • Provide feedback to immediate Supervisor on outstanding issues.
  • Maintain efficient job card logging system using SAGE.
  • Attend meetings as and when required.
  • Seek own development and learning opportunities within the Mine.
  • Ensure adherence to SHE programmes, practice, safety standards and regulations.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks to reinforce SHE and related messages and decisions.

Legal and other requirements

  • Police clearance and medical examinations of fitness.

Qualifications and experience

  • 2 years’ office experience in a plant environment.
  • National Diploma in Office Administration, Office Management or equivalent.
  • MS Suite.
  • Typing proficiency (>40 words per minute).

Skills and competencies

  • Filing and record keeping.
  • Problem solving.
  • Interpersonal relations and customer oriented.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Time management.

Attributes

  • Knowledge of reporting procedures (clocking systems).
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures (POSCORBE).
  • Ability to pay attention to details and systematic approach to work.
  • Consistent with agreed principles of correct; moral conduct.
  • Ability to take direction but exercise independent thought and judgment.
