Purpose:
Under the direction of the Plant Controller, the Accountant is responsible for assisting the Plant Controller in month-end close and overseeing general ledger transactions.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assists the Plant Controller in month-end activities.
- Work with the controller on monthly outlook, Annual profit plan and inputs for Strat plan
- Work with other team members to ensure vendors are paid on time per their payment terms and vendor Statements are up to date
- Responsible for the Open purchase order report and actively keeping it current
- Manages all daily banking functions of the company including resolving line of credit, deposits and transfers.
- Insures proper account distribution for item expenses, inventories, fixed assets, etc.
- Drive HFM inputs and proper Planform allocation and reporting
- Assists in the taking of quarterly and year-end physical inventory to assure accurate ending inventories balance.
- Lead the Fixed assets verification and Tagging exercise per the set standard and frequency
- Leads the internal audit process to ensure plant compliance with SOX
- Comply with all BOS, ISO/TS-16949 and Customer Specific requirements. Reference the ADIENT BOS Responsibilities Matrix for all requirements related to this job title.
- Researches, analyzes and resolves questions from managers relating to financial transactions including revenues, expenses and capital expenditures.
- Prepares supporting schedules for monthly financial statements.
- Communicate plant departmental KPIs and Finance communication boards in plant
- Assists in maintaining the accuracy of all balance sheet accounts by ensuring that account reconciliations are completed monthly/quarterly as scheduled.
- Initiate purchasing process for the Plant request on the relevant system
- Ensure all relevant documents required for imports are complete and shared with the relevant stakeholders in the region (HQ).
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of accounting staff.
- Performs related duties as may be assigned by the Plant Controller.
- Support other departments on any finance documents required during various Audits
- Support safety programs for the Plant (i.e. capital for ergonomic improvements, etc.).
- Participates in the Health, Safety and Environmental program by following all policies, procedures and work instructions that may include safety rules, safety observation audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting/Economics or equivalent
- At least 5 years Accounting experience in manufacturing or similary industry, preferably in automotive industry
- Proficient in MS Office Applications, advanced skills in Excel.
- Sound Audit background
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex or ambiguous situations.
- Strong supervisory management skills and ability to work under deadlines.
- Hands-on experience working with numerous financial systems.
- Capable of working in a fast-pace manufacturing environment
