BACKGROUND

The purpose of the Internship is to provide support for Planning and Reporting. The Planning and Reporting intern will support the Deputy Representative by performing a variety of specialized tasks in preparation, planning and reporting as well as coordinating Programmes.

The intern will receive supervision, guidance and coaching by the immediate supervisor for the duration of the internship. The supervisor will also provide an evaluation at the end of the internship period.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Reporting

Support the coordination to the End Year Review.

Support Deputy Representative in the review, oversight and support towards the implementation of UNICEF overall programmes.
Coordinate the Deputy and Representatives office in all critical aspects of work in close collaboration with the Deputy Representative and the section chiefs.

Contribute to the timely preparation of quality reporting of the Country Office Annual Report.
Contribute to the documentation of Enterprise Content Management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

To be considered for an internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

At least 18 years of age
Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme or have graduated within the past two years; in the following disciplines: Social sciences, Development Studies and International relations.
Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
Excellent skills in excel and data manipulation with adequate ability to perform financial analysis.
Expertise on data analysis and report writing.
Fluency in English required; Working knowledge of any other UN official language is desirable.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A small monthly allowance of approximately USD 300 will be paid for this internship.
Individuals are responsible for arranging any visa or immigration requirements, if applicable

The intern must have proof of medical insurance covering the time at the duty station.
Interns are not considered staff members. Notwithstanding this status, they shall observe all applicable rules, regulations, instructions and procedures and directives of UNICEF.
Interns shall respect the impartiality and independence required of UNICEF and shall not seek or accept instructions regarding the services performed under the internship agreement from any Government or from any authority external to UNICEF
Unless otherwise authorized by the receiving office/division, interns may not communicate at any time to the media or to any institution, person, Government or any external source any information which has become known to them by reasons of their association with UNICEF. They may not use any such information without the written authorization, and such information may never be used for personal gain. These obligations do not lapse after the end of the internship
Interns shall refrain from any conduct that would adversely reflect on UNICEF and not engage in any activity which is incompatible with the aims and objectives of UNICEF
There is no expectation of employment at the end of the internship assignment.
