The main purpose of this position is to establish and oversee the daily and long-term operational management of assets within the organisation. This would include the management of buildings and vehicles owned by the DTHF as well as engaging with contractors and vendors providing services on the premises and maintaining Security and Health and Safety standards. The incumbent would be required to maintain service level agreements, policies and processes to protect and maintain the infrastructure investment. The Physical Assets Manager partners closely with Procurement, Finance, IT support and the site leads to ensure assets are properly secured and managed throughout the asset lifecycle from purchase to disposal.  

Minimum Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in Civil / Electrical Engineering/ Logistics or equivalent years of relevant experience
Recognised Health and Safety qualification
At least 6 – 8 years’ hands on experience in building management
Knowledge of and experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building and equipment maintenance
Knowledge and experience in fleet management and logistics
Computer literacy (Ms Office)
Advantageous:
Master builder or professional registration
Valid Code 08 Drivers licence and own vehicle
Strong communication abilities in both oral and written form at both technical and non-technical levels
Ability to analyse requests, identify business needs, prioritize work, formulate valid conclusions and objectively present any necessary information
Effective time management and organizational skills
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
Result & quality orientation
Is flexible and easily adapts to new situations
Strategic leadership and strong staff/ team management abilities
Integrity, personal sense of accountability
Risk management and control skills
Resilient and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of Project Management software
