Job Title : Pharmacy Technician
Responsible To : Pharmacist
JOB SUMMARY:
To receive, prepare and dispense prescription drugs and other medical devices to all patients at all times and instruct on their use. Your responsibility is to ensure that medications are properly stored and that security procedures are followed. The Pharmacy technologist will ensure that payment is made before issuance of medication and perform all duties designated to him/her by the supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To provide essential pharmaceutical services
2. To advise on effective use of pharmaceuticals
3. To ensure proper storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals
4. To compile data concerning consumption of pharmaceuticals
PROFESSIONAL AND ETHICAL ASPECTS:
Ensure confidentiality of patient information
Must be able to act in the best interest of the patient.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
• Must be a Lesotho Citizen who has Diploma in Pharmacy Technology plus two years’ experience or degree in pharmacy.
• Must have registered with Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council.
