RESPONSIBLE TO: DIRECTOR PROSECUTION

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Administration, the incumbent is responsible for performing the following duties in the area of her assignments, production and distribution of documents, office administration, preparation of meetings and official trips, office security, and supervision of subordinate staff.

Main Duties

  1. Provides secretarial and administration support to the Director Prosecutions.
  2. Manage appointments, meetings, schedules, diary, and travel arrangements.
  3. Prepares correspondence, reports, minutes, presentations, and other official documents.
  4. Maintains a record system and files correspondence for access to information and reference.
  5. Registers incoming and outgoing mail and instructs messenger on delivery/postage for record and appropriate dispatch.
  6. Receives visitors, attends to their requests, and refers their queries to other officers as necessary to regulate and speed up the process of service delivery.
  7. Checks and confirms the validity of travel documents and certificates of inoculation of senior officials in order to ensure adherence to immigration and health requirements of a host country.
  8. Arranges entry visas, accommodation, and transport for the official’s guests to enable their stay and movement in the country.
  9. Organises refreshments for official meetings to promote good public relations.
  10. Ensures security of the office, including activating the alarm system to prevent theft or loss.
  11. May assign work to subordinate staff and check progress to monitor workflow and quality control.
  12. Performs any other related duties that may be assigned due to the demand of the service.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Office Administration from a recognised institution of Lesotho.
• 3 years’ experience in secretarial duties.

OR

• Advanced Typing or typing speed of 50 wpm.
• 5 years’ relevant experience in secretarial duties and office procedures.
• Advanced Word Processing.
• Training in secretarial duties and experience in prosecutorial secretary duties will be an added advantage.

OR

• Advanced typing speed of 50 wpm and Audio Transcription, or Shorthand speed of 90 wpm.
• Advanced Word Processing.
• 5 years’ relevant experience in secretarial duties and office procedures.

Necessary Information for Applicants

• Typed applications should duly be accompanied by an Application Letter, Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae, and certified copies of Educational Certificates and transcripts.

• Applicants should not have any criminal or misconduct record.

• Applicants must be prepared to resign from the Public Service.

• All applicants must be prepared to undergo vetting.

• All applicants must present a police clearance certificate.

• Applicants may be placed at any of the ten (10) districts of the country.

• All applicants are requested to attach verification certificates from the Council of Higher Education (CHE) for their educational certificates.

• Applications should be directed or hand delivered to the office of the Registry, at the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Offences, Former British High Commissioner’s Building, P.O. Box 16060, (Opposite National Manpower Development Secretariat (NMDS), MASERU) on or before 19th June, 2026, before 13:00 pm.
