Job Purpose

  • To develop a long-lasting relationship with all customers by providing practical insights into their personal business, particularly with regard to account management
  • To provide a responsive, pro-active, proficient and efficient banking service to personal banking customers in order to grow (acquire) the portfolio and retain (cross-sell) the existing book.
  • To alert and advise customers on wealth creation opportunities offered by the bank and expand their share of wallet.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Attracts new business by identifying quality customers and their potential value to the bank i.e. the jobholder goes out to look for new customers and through BPI / WPB / Ecosystem being one of the selling channel
  • Analyses customer banking and financial needs in order to address these through banking customer solutions i.e. the borrowing needs of Personal banking customers etc.
  • Contributes to Personal Markets CVP and sales plans through providing recommendations appropriate action to protect/grow the business e.g. new schemes, lending parameters, campaigns.
  • Educates customers on self-service channels utilization.
  • Manages own calling program for all (new and existing) customers to deepen relationships with them.
  • Compiles the required reports (i.e. Sales reports, arears reports, DTC reports, inactive / dormancy report) as per required accuracy, quality and submits them timely.
  • Passes on leads to other relevant segments.
  • Ensures that all required documentation has been provided with the account opening applications for new accounts to be opened, and that the forms have been fully completed and open the accounts as requested.
  • Capture clients queries and requests on Service Salesforce and provide feedback accordingly
  • Capture applications on CAMs and LOS if necessary
  • Actively monitors on boarded customers’ account behaviour under the respective codes.
  • Daily action of reports (Watchlist, Damage Control, Provisions, Referral Limit Review)
  • Extract and action KYC Freeze lists for portfolio for accounts not identified in line with KYC policy
  • Ensure that the segment is KYC compliant

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Bcom Accounting or Economics or related field
  • 2 Years’ experience in a Retail Banking environment.
  • Proven sales management track record.

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

  • Knowledge of lending and credit risk, securities, and management principles
  • Experience in opening of accounts
  • Preparing credit motivations and understanding the related credit principles. 
  • Sales experience in a financial environment. 
  • Understands the banks products and processes
