The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is an independent and autonomous body and is the Supreme Audit Institution in Lesotho. OAG is responsible for auditing government revenue and spending and overseeing public funds’ management, quality, and credibility of the government’s reported financial data. OAG invites applications from suitably qualified local candidates for the following position:

JOB TITLE: Personal Assistant

RESPONSIBLE TO: AUDITOR-GENERAL

CORE DESCRIPTION

To provide day-to-day administrative and technical support to the Auditor-General (AG).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Handle AG’s confidential documents ensuring they remain secure.
  2. Examine draft documents submitted to AG and recommend revision where necessary.
  3. Answer and screen telephone calls and respond to emails, messages, and other correspondence in AG’S office.
  4. Schedule appointments and maintain an events calendar.
  5. Facilitate scheduled meetings/events and arrange for refreshments if required.
  6. Remind the AG of important tasks and deadlines.
  7. Scan and fax documents and take notes when required.
  8. Devise and maintain AG’s office filing system.
  9. Control access to AG’s office.
  10. Book and arrange travel, transport, and accommodation for AG
  11. Prepare and submit budgetary needs of AG’s office to the Administration Officer.
  12. Order AG’s office supplies and replacements.
  13. Receive AG’s visitors and attend to their requests.
  14. Observe best business practices and etiquette.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BCOM Accounting or General Accountant
