PERSONAL ASSISTANT

The Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC) was established by an Act of Parliament as a parastatal. The LNDC Act No. 20 of 1967, as amended by LNDC Act No. 13 of 1990 and LNDC Act No. 7 of 2000, mandates the Corporation to: “initiate, promote and facilitate the development of manufacturing and processing industries, mining and commerce in a manner calculated to raise the level of income and employment in Lesotho.  The LNDC invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Personal Assistant (Paterson Grade C1).

PURPOSE

To provide administrative and secretarial support to the office of the General Manager – Property Development and Management Business Unit, as a key liaison point for internal and external stakeholders so that the activities of the General Manager (GM) are coordinated efficiently and professionally.

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Administration and Correspondence
  • • Communicate with all relevant departments on issues of the area of specialisation.
  • • Communicate with internal and/or external stakeholders, where required, to achieve work objectives and to maintain relationships.
  • • Provide advice and support to managers and employees on employment practices, employment contracts, and employee benefits, to drive overall business performance.  
  1. Meetings
  • Finalise drafted minutes and submit to the GM for approval; distribute to the relevant team members alerting them to their action items and follow-up on completion.
  • Coordinate venue requirements, ensuring that GM’s meetings take priority; meet logistical pre-requisites i.e., catering, meeting packs etc. are met.
  • Prepare agendas and take minutes during specified meetings, reflecting a complete record in compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Distribute minutes of meetings to affected parties within agreed time frames, effect change requests upon receipt.
  • Track documents, actions, queries and requests, and respond appropriately.
  1. Resource Management  
  • Determine stationery and refreshments needs within own area of responsibility and order as is required.
  • Request required assets and resources for the fulfilment of work duties and ensure that all equipment is operational.

  • Communicate with all relevant departments on issues of the area of specialisation.
  • Communicate with internal and/or external stakeholders, where required, to achieve work objectives and to maintain relationships.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Diploma in Secretarial Services 

• 3 years’ experience as a Personal Assistant 

TERM OF CONTRACT

Permanent and Pensionable
