SELEMELA IS LOOKING FOR PEER SUPPORTERS
The Itekole Peer Network under Selemela Learning Network is looking to engage 10 Peer Supporters to provide knowledge, experience, social and practical support to high school students. This will be done with the intention of assisting students with their mental well-being, so as to help them excel in their education.
Selemela is a Lesotho-based social enterprise with an overall goal of bridging the gap between education theory and practice in Lesotho.
The Peer Supporter will:
- Be a young adult between the ages of 18 to 24 years.
- Be interested in working with high school students (about 4 per Peer Supporter)
- Be willing to dedicate at least 2 hours weekly to listening, advising, mentoring and engaging with high school students. (Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all meetings will take place virtually until further notice).
- Undergo virtual training by a psychologist prior to commencing the Peer Support work.
Please note that this is a VOLUNTEER POSITION, however it will entail the following benefits:

- Provision of references for Peer Supporters seeking to apply for other opportunities
- Networking and mentoring opportunities/connections in the Selemela Learning Network
- Free therapy sessions (limited number of sessions)
