Help Lesotho seeks to recruit Peer Educators in Quthing to work closely with the Field Project Officer (FPO) in implementing activities of the Prevention and Management of Early and Unintended Pregnancy project (EUP).

JOB OVERVIEW:

Help Lesotho working in collaboration with Ministry of Education seeks to scale-up the prevention and management ot f EUP within the Quthing district. The project is focused on building local structures’ capacity to prevent and manage EUP and to ensure that adolescents and young people are empowered with knowledge and skills to make informed decisions, maintain healthy sexual behaviors and access sexual and reproductive health services.

Job Summary

The Peer Educator Volunteers (PEV) will work closely with the Field Project Officer (FPO) to engage community structures, schools and other stakeholders to address Early and Unintended Pregnancy (EUP) and Child Early and Forced Marriages (CEFM). The PEV will assist the FPO to execute project activities in schools and villages in Telle and Urban community councils.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

– Assist the FPO to organize, supervise and execute EUP activities for Out of School and in school project activities:

– Assist FPO in event planning, logistics, facilitation and execution of EUP prevention awareness events

– Execute weekly information fairs and outreaches at partnering schools to support school based youth Events

– Execute regular community engagement activities to promote and recruit for EUP prevention programs

– Provide facilitation support to adolescent and youth training programs, teachers training, school information fairs and community leadership sessions

– Submit reports and information to adolescent and youth training programs, teachers training, school information fairs and community leadership sessions

– Submit reports and information to required standards and in a timely manner

– Collaborate and cooperate with other Help Lesotho staff ,interns and volunteers

-Participate fully in regular staff and volunteer meetings and events

– Conduct Community facilitation on SRHR,GBV related issues

Required Skills and Qualifications:

– Diploma in the relevant field;

– Demonstrated experience In pubic speaking and community engagement

– Mosotho citizen;

– Demonstrated leadership skills; Peoples person and wilingness to learn and attend weekly meetings for their development;

– Well-developed written and oral skills in Sesotho & English;

– Possess good communication skills;

– Must be aged between 21-32 years:
