Job Summary
The Payroll Officer will be responsible for overseeing the processing of company payroll and corporate time and attendance. Ensures accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Ensures proper governmental reporting and compliance. Prepares statistical reports as needed. Directs the activities of a staff of payroll administrators.

Responsibilities
• Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
• Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and
update payroll information.
• Processing of all monthly changes including but not limited to salary, wages and overtime.
• Compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, benefits on a monthly basis.
• Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee income, taxes, unemployment and workers compensation payments.
• Investigating, resolving and providing feedback on payroll discrepancies.
• Administration of overtime and travel on via Sage ESS and Payroll.
• Preparation of payroll reconciliations.
• Ensure that all Payroll processes are aligned to internal and external audit requirements.
• Maintaining payroll operations by following applicable policies and procedures.
•Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.

Experience and qualifications
• Financial Degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 –4 years’ experience in a full payroll function
• Payroll Diploma will be an advantages
• Must have full payroll function knowledge with all statutory and legislative requirements. An accounting background in reconciliations is an important aspect of the job.
• Strong Microsoft office skills
• Sage Payroll & ESS experience is essential
