Pattern Maker – After‑Sales Seat Covers

About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and detail‑oriented Pattern Maker to join our production team in the automotive aftermarket division. The successful candidate will develop accurate seat cover patterns for various vehicle models, ensuring excellent fit, finish, and repeatable production quality.
This role is critical in achieving our goal of delivering OEM‑level seat cover fitment to customers across Southern Africa and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify seat cover patterns for different vehicle models and trims
- Interpret vehicle seat geometry and convert it into production‑ready patterns
- Work closely with sampling, sewing and cutting teams during trial fitments
- Conduct vehicle fitment tests and make technical adjustments
- Develop nesting layouts for material optimization and minimal waste
- Maintain pattern archives and technical documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in fit and assembly efficiency
- Assist with troubleshooting fitment issues from customers (after‑sales feedback)
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma / Certificate in Clothing, Upholstery, Leather Technology, or related field
- At least 2 years’ experience in pattern making (automotive upholstery preferred)
- Strong understanding of seat construction and foam behaviour
- Experience with industrial sewing processes and trim assembly
- Ability to read measurements and translate 3D surfaces into 2D patterns
- Good problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Computer‑aided pattern making experience (Gerber, Lectra, Optitex or similar) is an advantage
