We have an excellent opportunity for a Partnerships and Innovation Officer in our Strategy, Portfolio, Partnerships and Digital (SPPD) Division.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Innovation, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Secretariat’s Partnerships Strategy, supporting and strengthening the Secretariat’s partnership with member governments, Commonwealth-accredited organisations as well as other institutional partners from the international development, private and voluntary sectors.

The Innovation aspect of this role is responsible for developing programmes, projects, and partnerships as part of the Commonwealth’s innovation ecosystem and digital transformation agenda.

The successful candidate will play a major role in working closely with all Secretariat teams to identify and pursue fundraising opportunities and develop innovative partnerships in line with the Strategic Plan. Networking and outreach to existing and potential partners will be a key component of this role. Supporting the delivery of technical assistance, providing policy guidance to Commonwealth countries on innovation and digital transformation, and undertaking research to collate, write and publish cutting edge policy guidance as well as visually compelling and insightful data analysis, particularly on digital and interactive platforms are key components of the role.

To be considered, you must hold a post-graduate degree/diploma (or equivalent) in International Development, Public/Business Administration, International Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences, Fundraising Social Sciences, Digital Governance, or a related field.

Candidates must also have at least five years’ overall relevant experience across partnerships, resource mobilisation, communications, stakeholder engagement and advocacy. In addition, candidates must have at least five years’ of progressively relevant experience in the public or private sectors, consulting and/or academia, with some experience of working for or in partnership with an international development / inter-governmental / multilateral organisation.

The successful candidate will also need to have at least three years of experience at an international development organisation and/or an international not-for-profit organisation, and at least three years’ experience involving engagement with policymakers and key decision-makers from the private, public and voluntary sectors.
