POSITION DETAILS
JOB TITLE : Part‑Time Medical Doctor
REPORTING TO : Medical Superintendent
WORKING TIME : Half‑day
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Medical Superintendent, the Medical Doctor is responsible for managing and caring for patients. The incumbent will work on a part‑time (half‑day) basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and care for patients
- Consult patients and prescribe medication
- Review patient clinical management
- Ensure efficient service delivery
- Provide technical advice, guidance and support to other healthcare workers
- Coordinate patient management with other healthcare professionals
- Liaise with senior doctors regarding patient management and referrals
- Prepare reports for submission to relevant authorities as required
- Maintain various records and registers
- Attend doctors’ meetings and make presentations
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Valid degree in MBChB / MD
- Registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council
- Good communication skills
- Ability to learn and develop professionally
- Commitment to work and professional ethics
- Sound decision‑making skills
- Computer literacy
