**PIHE Part-Time Lecturer Design Theory and Practice**
**Midrand Campus**
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: **
+ To lecture a series of theory and practical modules from pre-degree to 3rd year level graphic design students
+ Marking of assessments
+ Preparation of notes and additional study materials
+ At-risk student tracking and intervention strategies
+ To assist in the administration of Campus affairs and activities as required by the Academic Manager
+ To work with Group Head Office staff on developing new course materials and assessments
+ Assistance with the preparation, co-ordination and attendance at functions, events and activities (open/career days).
**REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: **
+ Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment
+ Excellent communication skills- assertive and approachable to students
+ Professional knowledge in their area of expertise
+ Quality orientation including attention to detail and deadline-awareness
+ Innovative; ability to solve problems alone and within the team
+ All applicants must display a high level of computer literacy
**Qualifications**
**BASIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS: **
**Minimum qualification**
+ An Honours Degree or BTech in Graphic Design or Fine Art is a minimum requirement
+ Candidates with a Masters Degree or equivalent will receive preference.
+ Individuals with a lower qualification who have relevant industry and/or academic experience will be considered.
+ Experience in a higher education environment will be beneficial
+ Necessary knowledge of higher education practices and processes
+ Relevant business management experience
**Computer Literacy**
+ Relevant Adobe software competency (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.)
