The Communications Department at The Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions Incorporated (CRICO) is looking for an agile, self-motivated, and experienced individual to serve as a health/medical writer to produce supplemental content for our public website. You will be able to meet agreed-upon deadlines, ensuring timely completion of clinical writing projects. Our ideal candidate is someone with strong clinical story-writing skills with the ability to develop content into an engaging style easily understood by clinical and general audiences alike.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with members of CRICO’s Communications and Patient Safety Teams to develop and produce a variety of content in adherence to the established length and format including: case studies, blog posts, and specialty-specific risk articles
- Create engaging scenarios which capture the attention of clinicians to enhance their clinical decision-making skills and reduce risk
- Write compelling articles based on CRICO’s published patient safety initiatives and comparative data
- Write, edit and review content
- Support delivery of content for cross-dissemination to partner organizations
- Potentially attend patient safety events and write up a summary of shared content
Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Communications, health or medical discipline; Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of four years health/medical writing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effectively fact-check, reference, and annotate work
- Portfolio of previously published work including health/medical related items
- Proven ability as self-starter, comfortable working independently or with others
- Efficiency in handling multiple assignments at one time.
- Exceptional computer skills. Knowledge of PC operating platform a must.
- Thorough knowledge of the following software applications is required:
Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat - Experience with web content management platform Sitecore an added bonus
- Independently motivated, and open to proposing creative solutions and ideas
