VACANCY: Part-Time Facilities Management Officer
Job Title: Part-Time Facilities Management Officer
Reports To: Registrar
Responsible For: Maintenance, upgrading, and management of all CAS physical infrastructure

Purpose of the Job:
To provide guidance on maintenance, upgrading, and management of all CAS physical infrastructure, ensuring that it is operational and in good condition at all times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration
- Develop and manage service provider contracts (e.g., security, parking, cleaning)
- Monitor vendor/service provider performance as per signed contracts
- Supervise multi-disciplinary teams (cleaning, maintenance, grounds, security, drivers)
- Ensure basic facilities like water and heating are well maintained
- Allocate and manage space across buildings
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and health, safety, and environmental standards
- Oversee building projects, renovations, and refurbishments
- Address emergency issues that compromise safety, security, and facility usability
- Formulate expansion plans and project future infrastructural needs
- Develop departmental policies and preventive maintenance programs; inspect facilities
Maintenance
- Ensure a safe campus environment by maintaining fire protection systems
- Act as project manager for infrastructural activities
- Supervise emergency and routine maintenance
- Perform minor repairs across campus (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, general tasks)
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and effectively
- Conduct inspections to identify hazards and maintenance needs
- Perform preventive maintenance per schedule and equipment protocols
- Liaise with contractors/suppliers for specialized repairs
- Maintain and safely store tools, equipment, and supplies
- Assist with event setups, furniture moves, and space reconfigurations
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Property Management, or related field with 20 years of relevant experience
OR
• Diploma in Facilities/Property Management with at least 25 years’ experience as a Built Facilities Officer
