Job Description
The Paramedic will provide professional emergency and pre-hospital care, patient assessment, first aid, basic life support, and appropriate healthcare support during home visits and community-based services. The Paramedic will also assist with patient monitoring and ensure that clients are referred to appropriate healthcare facilities when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Provide emergency medical care within the professional scope of practice.
- Provide first aid and basic life support when required.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
- Perform wound care and basic emergency interventions within scope.
- Assist with post-discharge and post-hospital patient follow-up.
- Monitor patients during home visits and identify deterioration.
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical reports.
- Educate patients and families on basic health and emergency preparedness.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, doctors, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Refer patients to hospitals or other healthcare providers when necessary.
- Participate in community health and First Aid training programmes where required.
