Pallette Line Operator ( P12 )
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To ensure the efficient running of the Pallet line, which includes the Pallet conveyor systems, Strapping machine, Octopus, Robot and Label Printer, in compliance with SHEQ requirements.
REPORTING TO: Foreman
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loading top boards, labels, ribbons into the printer, strapping on all Pallets.
- Visual quality checks must be carried on all the pallets processed on the pallet line.
- Ensuring that machine does not run out of the consumables (packaging materials) that are used for processing pallets through the line.
- Ensuring that the Pallet line does not cause any downtime on any of the production machines in the section.
- Ensuring that the robot has correct recipe selected for full and half Pallets.
- Ensuring correct recipe is selected for Octopus Pallet wrapping.
- Carry out production orientated maintenance tasks.
- Responsible for efficient shift handovers – ensure that all relevant information is passed to the incoming shift and that no downtime is incurred anywhere due to the shift handover.
- Does checks on pallet scale for weight confirmation and keeps the shift foreman fully aware of the routine running of the Pallet line.
- Understand & comply with all SHEQ requirements of the job.
- Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- Matric and Full N3 Pulp and Paper qualification / NQF Level 4 Paper Board qualification
- Fork Truck and Crane license is essential
- Computer literate, advantageous
- Six (6) months working experience in a manufacturing industry
