Packing Department Supervisor
Asia Garments (Pty) Ltd is a leading manufacturer of quality garments.
We are seeking a results-driven and people-oriented Packing Department Supervisor to oversee daily operations and ensure that production targets and quality standards are met.
Main Purpose
To supervise and coordinate packing activities, ensuring that garments are properly ironed, neatly packed, inspected and approved before dispatch, while ensuring that daily production targets and deadlines are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of employees in the packing department.
- Ensure that garments are ironed correctly and according to required specifications.
- Ensure that garments are packed neatly, correctly and securely in boxes.
- Ensure that all work is without faults or defects, whether during packaging or quality inspection.
- Ensure that work is submitted for inspection and approved before dispatch.
- Ensure that there are no queries or rejected work after inspection.
- Ensure that employees in packing reach assigned daily targets.
- Ensure that production deadlines are met.
- Monitor progress, identify challenges and take corrective action.
- Ensure rejected or defective work is corrected promptly.
- Allocate work, monitor performance and provide guidance to employees.
- Ensure proper handling and care of garments, materials and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised packing area.
- Report production progress, quality concerns and outstanding issues to management.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a garment or textile environment.
- Strong knowledge of garment finishing, ironing, packing and quality requirements.
- Ability to monitor and achieve daily production targets.
- Ability to identify quality defects and ensure corrective action is taken.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to maintain accurate production and quality records.
