Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free pediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.

BCMCFL is looking for highly qualified local candidates to fill in the following positions available on a full-time, Fixed-Term, Special Contract basis.

Outreach Nurse x6   Based in: Berea (x3) Leribe (x3)Position overview The  Outreach  Nurse  will  provide  direct  pediatric  HIV  care  and treatment at the facility. S/He will also coordinate HTC campaigns (preschools,  daycare,  facility-based  family  testing,  etc)  and  other outreach activities (tracking patients lost to follow-up, contact tracing) supported  by  PITC  Counsellors.  The  Outreach  Nurse  will  report directly to Lead Nurse and will be required to travel 98% within project district. Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  
•    Assist Project Medical Officer in conducting nurse attachments at Baylor COE and SCOEs
•    Mentor Nurses at health facilities in collaboration with DHMT officials and Project Medical Officers
•    Train, mentor, and supervise health care professionals on pediatric HIV and TB/HIV care and treatment
•    Ensure prompt and proper reporting project activities
•    Identify patients lost to follow-up and coordinate telephone
outreach or home visits with Counsellors
•    Coordinate contact tracing of patients diagnosed with TB
•    Coordinate and plan for HTC campaigns in the community such as daycares, preschools and orphanages as well family testing within the facility
•    Communicate    regularly    with    project    leader    regarding implementation of activities
•    Perform other duties as assigned by the administration
•     Diploma/Degree in General Nursing
•     Current registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council as a Nurse Midwife
•     Minimum  of  5  years’  experience  working  in HIV/AIDS care and treatment
•     Experience working with adolescent and young people will be an added advantage
•     Prior experience leading the team
•     Good  report  writing,  training  and  computer skills
•     Willingness to adapt to the changing demands of the position
•     Willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet targets
