Film submissions are being accepted for Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) 2019, scheduled for 25–29 September 2019.

Short and feature animated films, completed after 25 May 2018 are eligible to enter the Festival’s competition programs.

This year, the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) will award a total of fifteen (15) different prizes across six (6) main competition categories.

The 2019 OIAF competition categories are listed below.

  • A – Feature Film
  • B – Independent Short Films Competition
  • C – Student Animation Competition
  • D – Commissioned Films Competition
  • E – Films/Videos Made for Young Audiences
  • F – Virtual Reality (VR) Competition

Last year, the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) received a total of 2,469 entries from 84 countries and selected 110 for competition.

For forty-two (42) years, the OlAF has attracted film and animation buffs, art lovers and filmmakers from around the globe. It aims to foster the development and growth of animation talent found within Canada and the region.

The Festival presents the world’s most cutting-edge, thoughtful, funny and provocative animation films while mingling with many of animation’s most celebrated stars, studios and characters.
