Responsible to: Manager Organizational Development
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Manager Organizational Development, the incumbent will be responsible for Establishment Management and organizational design.
Main Duties
1. Establishment Management and Control
1.1 Conducts monthly Establishment audits.
1.2 Updates Establishment List.
1.3 Distribute establishment list copies to schools and HR offices.
1.4 Drafts response to requesting schools or offices for changes in the establishment or for advice.
1.5 Drafts Authority to the requesting school or office.
1.6 Reconciles data in the schools/offices Establishment list with HRIMS.
1.7 Verifies availability of funds for vacancies to be filled (advertised).
2. Organizational Design
2.1 Identifies the problem or need for organizational design or re-design.
2.2 Participates in Strategic Planning and change management processes.
2.3 Facilitates printing/publishing of Establishment list.
2.4 Participate in the development or review and publishing of Establishment Management and Organizational Design policy or Guidelines.
3. Supervision and Management of Staff
3.1 Guides and monitors supervisees on work.
3.2 Conducts supervisees’ performance reviews half yearly, and performance appraisals annually.
3.3 Supervises preparation of individual work plans annually in consultation with OD Manager in line with sectional plan.
3.4 Approves supervisee’s annual work plans to ascertain alignment to the set objectives.
Job Specification
Masters Degree in Organizational Development/HRM/Public Administration plus two (2) years’ working experience as Assistant Organizational Development Officer.
OR
Postgraduate Diploma/Honours in Organizational Design/HRM/Public Administration plus three (3) years working experience as an Assistant Organizational Development Officer.
OR
BA degree in HR Management/Public Administration plus five (5) years working experience as an Assistant Organizational Development Officer.
