Organizational Development (OD) Manager will be responsible for leading the coordination, design, implementation and management of organizational capacity building for selected Civil Society organizations (CSOs).This initiative is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), as part of the Lesotho Local Partner Technical Assistance Project managed by FHI 360 Capacity Development and Support (CDS) program. The OD Manager will be responsible for the overall OD capacity building and support  to  HIV Prevention, care and treatment and OVC partners.

Key Responsibility Areas

Capacity Building

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with donor, sub-awardees and other critical stakeholders.
  • Lead in the design and/or review of existing organizational capacity assessment tools aimed at identifying capacity gaps for the CSO including Communities of Faith (COF).
  • Oversee the process of OD institutional capacity assessments, to identify gaps and needs that will be addressed through various capacity development strategies at CSOs level including Communities of Faith.
  • Provide oversight in the development of OD capacity development plans, strategies and interventions to address identified needs and gaps at CSO level.
  • Develop, review, adopt and modify OD training curriculum, materials and job aids and other relevant training materials needed to develop the capacity of CSOs and responding to capacity development plans.
  • Coordinate monitor and support staff and training providers during the delivery of OD capacity building activities to ensure delivery of quality service delivery.
  • Provide oversight role during the process of support, mentoring and coaching guided by the OD capacity development plans (using various strategies such as site visits, emails, conference calls, webinars etc.) to facilitate systems strengthening at the CSO level.
  • Conduct periodic performance monitoring including quarterly and annual re-assessments of CSO to ensure quality is maintained and milestones are met.
  • Work with Program Officers (POs) to conduct regular updates on LLPTA project to USAID and CDS/Lesotho stakeholders on successes/achievements, challenges and lessons learned in the implementation of the project.
  • Manage and supervise program officers (POs) and trainers/facilitators ensuring supportive working environment during the process of OD system strengthening at CSO level
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

Required Qualifications, Experience/Skills:

  • Master’s Degree or its international equivalent in social sciences, business management, organizational development, human development, or related field.
  • At least 10 years’ project management experience in organizational development, administration, coordination, implementation and monitoring of capacity building for NGOs.
  • Knowledge on human resource and organizational policies and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of coordination and linkages between clinical and community stakeholders, health and social service; and operationalizing integrated service delivery models;
  • Experience managing, supervising and building the capacity of staff and sub-awardees.
  • Strong professional acumen and judgment and ability to represent FHI 360 to donors, government officials and the NGO community.
  • High degree of proficiency in written and spoken English communication, including excellent presentation, training, report writing skills.
  • Ability to manage work independently, set realistic priorities, and plan for the successful implementation of activities.
  • Collaboration and interpersonal skills and willingness to undertake additional responsibilities as necessary, and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Well-developed computer skills.
  • Capacity to and willingness to work with the communities of faith, traditional and civic structures
  • Computer literate with experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Fluency in English required, fluency in other Lesotho languages desired
  • Valid Lesotho driver’s licence

Travel

  • 40 -50% travel time
