Operator : Relief (Copeland) ( P12 )
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Sappi Tugela Mill is looking for an Opetrator: Leave Relief (Copeland) who will effectively manage and control resources within his area of responsibility (Operator: Copeland, Operator: Field and Operator: Batch plant) to ensure maximum production, plant availability and quality standards according to best operating practice.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Takes and hand over shift
- Prepare and start-up equipment/processes in the evaporators and reactor sections.
- Shut down evaporators and reactor when instructed from Foreman : NSSC or in emergency conditions.
- Monitors and control Evaporators parameters and report any deviations to Foreman: NSSC.
- Monitors and control Reactor parameters and report any deviations to Foreman: NSSC.
- Monitor and add raw materials as needed.
- Record process parameters and report any deviations to Foreman: NSSC.
- Takes samples /analyzes and reports on results.
- Completes Isolation Procedure Records.
- Conduct Routine Plant Checks.
- Ensures the recovery of Copeland product.
- Comply with all relevant SHEQ requirements of the job.
- Identify and take corrective action in terms of SHEQ conditions and hazards.
- Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times.
- Generate spill reports if and when required.
- Monitor levels.(cooking liquor, paraffin, silo)
- Ensure sufficient raw materials are available for Reactor start up. (bed material, Charcoal, Gas, Paraffin)
- Assist with Reactor, Feeding bed material, Rodding bed level,
- Clearing blockages, lines, pumps, bucket elevator, cooking liquor strainers, etc.
- Monitoring sump levels, prevention of effluent spillages
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Matric and/or N3 Pulp and Paper (4 subjects) and/or NQF Level 4 Qualification
- Computer Literacy (SAP & MS Office)
- Minimum 2 years’ Plant Operations Experience
