Job Description
The DWB plant operations supervisor will be responsible for the daily production and maintenance operation activities of the plant, including the
shipping/receiving of finished goods and raw materials.
This position will ensure that all company policies as they relate to quality,
safety,
certification and training are being followed. This will be a rotational shift position.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the day to day operations of the DWB plant:
- Manage a staff compliment of about 10 employees
- Ensures DWB plant has a controlled preventative maintenance plan in place that is executed as per the plan
- Promotes and manages the safe, efficient and effective use of all plant and equipment
- Ensures that all breakdowns are attended to immediately
- Ensure that all company Operational SOP’s are being followed
- Ensure the ZERO HARM policies and practices are being followed
- Ensure all direct reports comply with all legislative requirements and company policies
- Ensure that all quality standards are maintained and recorded. Product produced to comply with the provided specifications
- Ensure performance targets are achieved and deadlines are achieved
- Co-ordinate all training activities
- Take full responsibility and manage the following:

Takes full responsibility of shift and management of maintenance and
production - Manage, develop and motivate staff
- Monitor, measure and report on production performance
- Ensure good communication with direct reports both verbally and written
- Maintain housekeeping in workplace
- Maintain timekeeping
Essential Qualifications
Matric or equivalent
PLC Programming
Trade tested Millwright
Skills
5 Years’ experience in plant preventative maintenance
1 – 3 Years operations management experience
Plastic extrusion
2YRS Experience creating and providing feedback on performance metrics
2YRS Experience with quality testing
2YRS Experience implementing new safety and risk management policies
Preferred Education
Technical/Professional Qualification
Preferred Level of Work Experience
3 – 5 years
