Job Description

To provide strategic direction within the Operations Processing Centre environment in support of FNBL overall strategy and business units via facilitation of payments (local & cross border), KYC compliance in line with regulatory guidelines, reconciliation management and back-office process efficiencies for superior customer service. As the OPC Manager you must always demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and be able to operate in a high-pressure environment.

  • Develop and implement the OPC strategy in line with FNBL strategy with regular reviews to suit the business needs.
  • Strategic management of payments related projects both internal and regulatory.
  • Drive operational and cost efficiencies through process re-engineering and automation.
  • Supervision and performance management of the team: regular contact with team leaders to ensure all tasks are dealt with on a daily basis.
  • Ensure risk maturity and controls to ensure that OPC achieves acceptable audit ratings with no repeat findings.
  • Ensure adherence to core processes and procedures as well as regulatory requirements for payments and KYC compliance through the quality assurance function to achieve required Group and FNBL benchmarks.
  • Ensure proper records management in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage performance, skills development, talent and culture of team in order to achieve efficiencies and increase competencies.  Multiskilling of the team.
  • Superior customer service by ensuring that payments are processed timeously without errors (local, cross-border and cash management with partners: G4S & SBV).
  • Responsible for the management of daily client service requests / query management
  • Monitor and ensure that balancing and reconciliation of the Suspense and Balance sheet accounts is under control to minimise fraud and losses: adherence to clearing periods.
  • Prepare fortnightly and month end report for all outstanding Suspense and Office accounts to be presented to Finance.
  • Conduct weekly and surprise spot checks on all areas of business within OPC and compile comprehensive Portfolio of Evidence to support all checks completed.
  • Check full systems access report (HASS, Bancs) monthly to ensure that staff only have levels applicable to the job description.
  • Ensure that Protection & Security procedures are followed and monitor Health & Safety requirements.
  • Monitor OPC operational budget particularly expenses: e.g., overtime management.
  • Manage the back-office function in support of branches and business units with monthly reporting to COO.
  • Manage the fulfilment function to ensure timely customer service for loan fulfilment while minimising loss exposures.
