Operations Manager

AHF is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations leader to lead the operations of AHF-Lesotho.

AHF launched its international operations in Africa in 2002. Today, the Africa Bureau supports high-impact HIV/AIDS programs in 15 countries, namely Eswatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of operational functions that support AHF Lesotho’s growing HIV prevention and treatment program.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and day-to-day oversight of supply chain management, procurement, inventory control, asset management, fleet operations, facilities management, construction and renovation projects, safety and security, and office administration.

By strengthening operational systems, internal controls, compliance, and resource stewardship, the Operations Manager will help ensure uninterrupted program delivery and support services for thousands of clients across Lesotho.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead procurement, supply chain, and vendor management processes in compliance with AHF policies.
  • Oversee inventory management, commodity distribution, and stock accountability.
  • Maintain an accurate asset management system, including asset tracking and verification.
  • Coordinate construction, renovation, maintenance, and facilities management projects.
  • Manage vehicle fleet operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation services.
  • Serve as the focal point for safety, security, and operational risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, internal controls, and applicable laws.
  • Supervise operations, logistics, procurement, fleet, stores, and administrative support staff.
  • Prepare operational reports and support continuous improvement initiatives across the program.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification or training in procurement, logistics, project management, risk management, fleet management, or facilities management will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in operations, procurement, logistics, supply chain management, administration, fleet management, asset management, or project management, preferably within NGOs, healthcare, donor-funded, or development organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, vendor management, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing assets, inventory, fleet operations, facilities, renovations, or construction projects.
  • Excellent planning, communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High integrity, professionalism, accountability, and commitment to organizational values.
