We are African Clean Energy. We are a rapidly growing B Corp enterprise focused on enabling decentralised access to clean energy for households in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. We are currently operating in Lesotho, Cambodia, Kenya and Uganda, with our flagship factory in Thetsane, Lesotho. Our mission is to eliminate the worst forms of poverty on a platform of clean energy and smartphone technology. We are best known for our ACE One: a solar-biomass hybrid that significantly reduces the need for cooking fuel, burns without smoke, and offers electricity for mobile charging and lighting.
Job Description
Overseeing the overall manufacturing process in the industry to ensure optimised production, the job entails supervising and directing the quality assurance, maintenance and technical personnel. Solving problems to streamline operations and to constantly look for areas/loopholes to improve on within the organisation.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Resolve issues escalated by technicians and maintenance technicians
- Provide support to commercial manager
- Oversight on planning maintenance processes and ensuring availability of necessary material, equipment and labour resources for any required project.
- Overseeing the procuring of raw materials, negotiating with contractors and suppliers
- Motivating the maintenance, production and technical teams to achieve their targets
- Ensuring all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective manner
- Searching for new ways to improve operational efficiency of ACE Lesotho
- Work closely with warehouse, production and IT managers to improve operations and provide assistance when required.
