The Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC) as established by the LNDC Act No. 20 of 1967, as amended, has a mandate to: “initiate, promote and facilitate the development of manufacturing and processing industries, mining and commerce in a manner calculated to raise the level of income and employment in Lesotho. LNDC thus, presents Masianokeng Integrated Vegetable (Pty) Ltd t/a Maluti Fresh Produce being a company established with the aim of establishing and implementing agricultural marketing infrastructure.
Maluti Fresh Produce’s first venture is “Maluti Fresh Produce Market” which is a market center and food handling facility located at Tikoe Industrial Estate (Factory M20-2; Plot 12312-051). This project was commissioned by the Government of Lesotho through funding and technical assistant from the International Trade Centre (ITC) under the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) project. LNDC – on behalf of Maluti Fresh Produce – now invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions incumbent at Maluti Fresh Produce Market:
Operations Manager
Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Market Master the Operations Manager is accountable for the planning and flow of operational activities of Maluti Fresh Produce Market: monitoring of quality control processes and procedures; managing and co-ordinate planning; hygiene, and housekeeping; monitoring of the correct maintenance procedures; planning for the removal of waste materials; loss control; and occupational health and safety.
Term of contract: 1 year renewable contract based on performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Management diploma or equivalent qualification in business or a related field. Valid driver’s license – Code B. A minimum of 5 years of experience with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Must have experience and knowledge of HACCP, logistics, production and / or operations planning and preparation, viz. process flow / product planning.
