Scalabrini Centre seeks to appoint Operations/HR Manager to be based in Cape Town.
 
Position Summary:
Manage the daily running of all Scalabrini Centre operations and of its Guesthouse. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation (OHS, POPI, BCEA, etc.). Provide HR services (recruitment, employee administration, probation and other performance review processes, implementing new company policies and reviewing existing policies, disciplinary processes) and implement interventions to promote staff wellness.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervising housekeeping staff and services management
Guesthouse management
Ensuring that basic facilities are well-maintained and conducting proactive maintenance
Ensuring that facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations
Overseeing any renovations, refurbishments, and building projects
Volunteer management and coordination
Monitor internal HR systems and processes
Manage the operations of the Centre’s outsourced payroll department and assist with all payroll queries, payroll input etc.
Manage performance appraisal process
Oversee an organization’s recruitment, interview, selection, and hiring processes
Reception management
Security and systems coordination
Programmatic support
Design and implement company policies
Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Proven work experience as an Operations Manager
Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field
Good knowledge of labour law
Ability to develop clear and fair company policies
Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
Team management skills
Competent writing and communication skills
The ability to prioritize and multi-task and problem solve
Time management skills
Excellent people and programme management skills
Two recent and contactable references, one of which must be work-related
