The Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) is a non-governmental organisation which envisions societies that are peaceful, equal and free from violence. CSVR aims to understand and prevent violence, heal its effects and build sustainable peace at community, national and regional levels. We do this through collaboration with and learning from the lived and diverse experiences of communities affected by violence and conflict to inform innovative interventions, generate knowledge, shape public discourse, influence policy, hold states accountable and promote gender equality, social cohesion and active citizenship.

CSVR seeks to appoint an Operations Department Manager based in Johannesburg. The position will entail a full-time one-year contract, renewable depending on funding. The successful candidate will work as part of CSVR’s Operations Department.

Responsibilities:
Manage the development of Administrative, HR, ICT, Risk systems, processes and procedures
Develop and monitor the implementation of policies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
Manage the implementation of the organisational strategy and plans for operations.
Manage the organisation’s information technology (including security, risk issues etc.)
Engage with funders on administrative and contractual matters
Manage projects with high level administrative requirements
Manage the mainstreaming of gender across all the organisations operations
Develop mechanisms to ensure adherence to good governance
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:
Masters’ degree in Management, Project Management, Business Administration or equivalent
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Operations Programme management area
At least 2 years financial management of budgets over R2 million
Experience in the NGO sector will be an added advantage
Strategic leadership and capability
Fundraising and financial management
Programme and project management
People management and empowerment
Stakeholder management
Risk Management
Experience in project managing of USAID will be an added advantage
