OPERATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – KNYSNA
The Knysna Education Trust, focused on Early Childhood Development, nominated as the best NGO in the country in 2014, seeks to appoint an Operations and Development Manager.
The position entails:
Successfully planning, leading, and mentoring multiple competent, energetic, and enthusiastic project teams and implementing robust impact evaluation
Engaging with key stakeholders (government, NGO’s, donors, principals, trustees)
Advising on policy and organizational direction
Marketing KET products and services nationally
Identifying business or collaboration opportunities aligned with the strategic needs of the organisation
Growing relationships with existing donors and expanding support from key strategic donors
Diversifying fundraising efforts to leverage all available channels (e.g. social media; website; local, national, and international benefactors; events) and building relationships through key collaboration opportunities
Effective development of key stakeholder relationships through written communication and oral presentations
Candidates must have:
At least 3 years in a senior leadership position
A successful track record and contactable references
Sound administrative and people management skills
A commercial orientation with budgeting experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A track record in strategy implementation
Strong presentation skills (Microsoft 365)
Ideally candidates should:
Be dynamic, self-motivated, and output driven
Have a related tertiary qualification
Have prior fundraising experience
Have experience working with government
Have experience in education, with knowledge of the ECD sector being ideal
Have a sound understanding of marketing
Be free to travel from time to time
