The Tshwane Leadership Foundation (TLF) is a nonprofit organisation working with churches and communities for urban transformation with a specific focus on social inclusion a process that integrates socially vulnerable people creatively and prevents displacement as much as possible.

The Tshwane Leadership Foundation seeks to appoint an Operational Manager for Akanani.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of strategic plans
  • Provide ministry guidance for the project
  • Supervision of the Akanani team
  • Oversee volunteers and students
  • Oversee and participate in the daily activities of the project
  • Work closely with the project coordinator and support the team
  • Networking on all relevant levels

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in community development work
  • 3 Years of experience working with homeless communities
  • Have a valid drivers license
  • Speak at least 3 South African languages
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Be able to work within a diverse team and environment
  • Good organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • A degree in theology and/ or community development would be advantageous
  • Have knowledge about skills development and employment projects
  • Reliable, punctual and dependable.
  • Have NGO experience
  • Competencies:
    • Attention to detail.
    • Strong communications skills.
    • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
    • Ability to interact effectively with people of diverse ages and cultures.
    • Reliable, punctual and dependable.
    • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders in the community.
    • Computer literacy.
    • Good organizational and communications skills.

Contractual arrangements:

  • This is a full-time position (45 hours per week). The successful candidate will receive an initial 6 months performance-based contract in line with the organizational policy. If both parties agree, this will be followed by an 18 months contract before becoming a permanent staff member.
  • Starting date: ASAP
  • Salary: R 10 000/ month (total cost to company)
