Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan 30km e ast from Pretoria.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Signal to Hoist Driver to lift, move and place materials into conveyance. Convey equipment and people
underground.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct general administrative tasks
Participate in all applicable Company communication activities
Control and store assets according to standard procedures
Use assets according to instructions
Assist in meeting the expectations of internal customers
Participate in incident and accident investigations
Report and assist with non-compliance issues
Assess and manage health and safety hazards and associated risks
Conduct and enforce pre-use inspections on conveyances
Continuously monitor equipment failure and efficiency and report to Shaft Foreman
Ensure efficient housekeeping of equipment (skip, conveyance and all station levels underground) according to departmental
requirements
Operate equipment (skip, conveyance) related to the work stream according to work requirements and departmental procedures
Perform risk assessments (Activity Based and Mini)
Perform visual inspections of equipment (skip, conveyance) according to departmental procedure to minimize breakdowns and
production losses by reporting abnormalities according to procedure
Perform weekly bell testing with electricians
Provide the relevant signals to driver
Responsible for conducting station inspection
Responsible for controlling the amount of people loading into the conveyance
Responsible for slinging activities to underground
Responsible for station cleaning and control of material cars
Transport men, material and explosives if required
Must be able to work shifts, overtime and be able to do standby and callouts
Required to perform other duties that may reasonably be expected within the Company from time to time
Ensure compliance to Statutory legislative requirements and Mine Policies, Procedures, Systems and Codes of Practice
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12
National Certificate: Onsetter
Minimum of 5 years Shaft experience
Valid Driver’s License
ADVANTAGEOUS:
Arc Welding / Oxy Cutting
Completed Elevator Operator Training
OTHER SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:
Able to communicate in English (written & verbal)
Attention to detail; reliability and ensure accuracy
